    The key here is simplicity. While looking through photos of style icons I noticed one thing in common - simplicity. They are considered timeless beauties. And what did they all have in common? They all did not load themselves up with bangle, baubles and bows.

    In science, we always say that the most beautiful discoveries or experiments are "simple". Beauty lies in simplicity, but beauty is not simple.;)

    Those are high quality clothes, the ethereal grays are absent (or dull) in mass brands. Hope she is indeed so serene that she will toss her cigarettes as soon as she can.

    Sallymandy..... I like 99% of the way she is put together. The 1% change I would effect is the shoes.

    Possibly she was given the shoes to off a contrast to the flowing fluidity of her clothes. Possibly the shoes are meant to be a statement about individuality and against the matchy-matchy concept.

    I think that the shoes take away from the overall effect. I would have put her in simply suede flats. That would have lost the feeling of rebellion, but it would have given the woman a better presentation, and that, to me, is what fashion is about.

    The argument against what I say is: But the black suede flats are consistent with the clothes. They are expected. They go with the length of the skirt and the texture of the fabric. There is no surprise.

    My reply to that would be:
    I like subtle counterpoints and statements and touches, but not taken to that extreme. A mature woman usually does not want to look outrageous. She wants to be looked at, but in ways that speak well of her. Those workboots/hiking boots look like the statement of a young girl, and as such would be more acceptable, but not on a woman the age of the model.

    Ok. Shoot me now, but aim for the heart so I die fast. :-) :-) :-)

    simplisity so easy and at the same time so hard.Now I live in a mountain area,so the shoes I did not react to,as not fitting .Have a nice weekend

    I love her look, and I love the qoute. What I would change about the photo - the cigarettes would be gone! But then I am uber sensitive to things like cigarettes and other cancer causing products, so probably ignore my prejudice!
