Doggy in Hiding and Flowers de la Semaine

100_1437

Vanna white dog is not posing with the flowers today.  s/he’s hiding under the bed because s/he’s embarrassed about her fur.

it’s long and mangy from winter.   but on monday s/he’ll get a sassy new summer ‘do.  and Then—back for more flower posing!

(if you missed vanna’s last appearances, you can catch them here and here.  woof.)

Here’s a bunch of flowers put together with greenery and lilacs from our back yard, and two bunches of flowers from the grocery store.

  4. Even Vanna's little hindquarters are cute! My dogs are SHEDDING like crazy, have been using the Furminator almost daily and getting gobs of hair each time.

Gorgeous flowers! Your lilacs are a much deeper color than the ones we used to have. I'll bet they smell wonderful!

  6. OMIGOSH!!!! I'm screaming out...'You have three Westies'. I have been there and there and they are just so beautiful and they have ear feathers too just like Milou if I let his fur grow too long.
And the flowers...lovely, the colours! Glorious.
Now calm down Annie, calm down.

  7. Bellissimi, Sallymandy! The mangy tail end of Vanna (very sophisticated Italian name) and the flowers (lilacs rule) made me smile and think how exhilarating it is when summer peeks through the window and suddenly brightens everything, and takes urgency and stress down a nothch.

I know Monday is a holiday there, so enjoy the long weekend. Ciao

  9. I have a photograph of one of my boys (cats) sleeping in that position - head and shoulders under the bed, rump and tail sticking out. Too cute. The surrounding books do something very appealing for this photograph's composition, ya know?

Your flower arrangement shows that you're a pro at it.

  10. Oh, you are indeed blessed to have lilac! They don't seem to like it here, although the magnolias are now in bloom... with gardenias just behind them.

  12. Those are lilacs? That colour is so intense. Ours are a softer more bleached lilac colour. Yours, beautiful.

  14. I love the colour combination and lilacs are one of my favourite things that grow. Beautiful! You could do this for a living, I think.

  16. Hi, I dropped by from The Clever Pup - Hazel makes me smile every day.

Vanna is gorgeous. We have that shedding problem too - a whole dog in the vac each week! Where does it all come from!?

Like your blog and will be back. LBx

  17. The lush bouquet is classically beautiful, and I would never have thought to mix bought flowers with garden flowers(sheesh! I don't know why...but wiil do that from now on...!).
And the view of Vanna's back end looks like a page from a picture book. :-)
