Posting Plan for Next Six Weeks

westofhere

Dear Friends,

I’m taking a break from regular posting for the next several weeks.

As some of you know, my husband has taken a three-year job in another state and is going to move there in mid-November.

My daughter and I are not moving with him at this time, as we’re uncertain about many parameters of the job.  He may be sent overseas.

We want to spend as much time together as possible before my husband leaves.  Then, SeeSpotRun and I will be traveling to where he’s moving to help him get settled.  After we return, we’ll be working on ways to stay connected to him and figuring out our own routine here.

I have slacked off my blog quite a bit in the last couple of weeks as we get closer to this change.  Instead of trying to keep it going in a half-baked way, I’m going to let it go of regular posting for now and see how I feel about it when my husband has gone.

I expect that either I will want more than ever to connect with my blog friends and have the distraction of writing, or…I will need to rest and focus on things closer to home for a time.  Or maybe some of both will happen.

In any case, I may post from time to time, and then I hope to reconnect with you all in some fashion by December.  In the meantime, know how much I appreciate you all.  I continue to send my encouragement and support for you in your blogging!

Love,

sallymandy

Nothing, absolutely nothing is more important than family and you are so right to abandon us to our own devices while you square up to this move and how you are going to cope.
We'll be fine [bloody hell, David seems to have started an exodus] but will keep a light in the window and hope you visit from time to time.
Good luck to you all, for he new job, the move, and whatever you decide to do.
Huge hugs.

Hello, dear Sallymandy,

I know this is a difficult time for you all, and you'll be in my thoughts.

Even though my life isn't going through the upheaval that yours is, I still find it difficult to keep up with all my favorite blogs, and post regularly on my blog. Your mind (and heart) must be racing in a million directions by now. Don't worry about your blog.

Just know that, even though we don't connect that often, I am here, if you should feel the need.

I wish you all the very best. And I hope that you will all be able to be together again very soon, in a place you can all happily call home.

Hugs and love,
Angela

wow, what an upheavel in your life. I will miss you and hope that things work out for the best and your hubby stays in the states. If not, it will still be okay. Hubby and I maintained a 3,000 mile long distance relationsihp for two years. It is tough but you can do it.

This must be a very difficult time for you all—especially with the holiday seasons approaching.
I've got you on FB and you can e-mail me at poetikat46@yahoo.ca anytime you wish.

Can you and your husband use Skype?

Best of luck with the transitions. We'll be here when you feel ready to return.

Your friend,

Kat

Family comes first! We all know that and can completely understand. It even takes alot of time to pack up and move just what you husband needs. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this transition. Hope to see you again in the future here. I'll keep you on my blog roll and patiently wait.

Love
Sher

This is a big time of transition and I hope everything goes well. Try to be kind to yourself and take things one day at a time.

What a significant transition for the whole family. Just know I will be thinking of you, and wishing you equanimity. Return when you wish, but (without obligation) it would be wonderful to know how you are, from time to time.

Hey SallyMandy,

I didn't even know you HAD a blog until today. Cool!

That is a scary change and I completely understand how precious your time together is right now.;)
I guess you will join "my world" of a long distance relationship, even though it is not exactly the same. But with today's technology, it is possible to be continents apart and still very much close. Therefore, do not despair.
Please enjoy the next few weeks as much as you can. I hope you can find consolation in the fact that there is a time limit and that this too will pass.
xoxo

Selfishly, I am disappointed and will miss you. But I think it is wonderful that you know what you need to do for yourself and your family and are doing it. I have been considering cutting back too, for different reasons. Blogging seems to have a vortex of its own that can suck one in if one is not careful. I think it is important to keep weighing our priorities and the price we pay for certain passtimes.

I will keep you on my blogroll and have my eye out for your next post - when you are ready. Be well.

Moannie said it perfectly. This is definitely a family focus time. And anyway, even while you are otherwise occupied, you will be in our thoughts.

I'll miss your posts but completely understand. I've had to make my family a priority in the past month. Best wishes for a smooth transition.

I certainly understand your need to prioritize your husband before the rest of us.

Sometimes blogging just gets in the way of everything else and it has to go.

Deborah said...

Sallymandy, I wish you all the best with this transition, which can't be an easy one. I look forward to seeing you back again if you do choose to continue writing.

Goodness, I just realized I never commented on this post. Sorry for my tardiness, sallymandy.

"Ya gotta do what ya gotta do." My break from blogging when my life was in a bit of an upheaval (not nearly the scale of your coming upheaval) was so good for me, helping me to re-focus and think about what I wanted to get out of blogging. I hope your break will be very beneficial for you, and for your loved ones.
