Renee Award

Lovely and talented Catherine at A Thousand Clapping Hands has honored me with the Renee Award.  This award was recently created to honor Renee of Circling my Head.

renee_award

"It is one of the most meaningful awards in the blogworld because it honors someone who is incredibly inspirational in her intelligent and witty writing. And by doing so this award celebrates women's smart, strong, and inspirational spirit. These women are like Renee; the acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…”

I’m honored to receive this award because of Renee’s honest writing.  Renee has Stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer, and writes from that point of view.  I’d also like to honor two friends who have recently learned they, too, have cancer.  One is W., about whom I wrote last week.  The other is Kayleigh of Fashionably Later

Dear friends, I’m thinking of you, I love you, I want the very best for you.

I’d like to pass the Renee Award on to Moannie at The View From This End.  Moannie doesn’t have cancer, that I know of.  I sincerely value words of experience and wisdom from women who are farther downstream in life than I am.  Moannie does that for me, so she’s a tall and sturdy oak tree giving acorns—the spirit of the Renee Award as I understand it.

Kayleigh has proven to be such an inspiration. But, *I know* she will be OK and has such a loving support network. It was lovely of you to honour her in this way.

What a great award.

A friend of a friend here in Philly, Andrea Collins-Smith, AKA "Punk Rock Mommy," lost her battle with IBC in July. She started blogging as a means of coping with her illness while keeping friends and family updated. The Punk Rock Mommy blog is still up, though no longer active. It is good to see another blogger writing honestly and openly about their battle with this disease. Thank you for sharing with us, Renee, and thank you for sharing Renee's blog with us, Sallymandy.

Congratulations on receiving the Renee award!
I received this award as well and since then have read Renee's blog and been in touch with her. She has a wicked sense of humour and is an absolute delight!
I felt very honoured to receive this award myself as I've lost several friends to cancer. And just this afternoon, I found out that yet another friend is fighting this dreadful disease.
It makes me grateful for the many blessings in my life, including the many kind, intelligent and wise friends I've met (like you) through blogging.

Congratulations my dear, it's so well deserve, for your great writing.

And thank you for understanding my sometimes "different words playing", to spiritual and philosophical issues that might sound dramatical, but as you so smartly said it's something deep in me.
Sometimes I think that people find me weird with those writings...
Thank you again, lovely.

Congrats to you on this award, and I do think this blog is an inspirational place. :-)
I also want to wish your friends who are battling cancer all the strength and good health vibes they'll need to beat this terrible disease.
Travel safe(Idaho) and "see you" when you get back!

I am overwhelmed to receive this award from you, I really do not feel I deserve it and that is not me showing false modesty. I suffer from a hefty share of insecurity, certainly with reference to my posts-I am told that most of us do...is it interesting? Funny? Sincere?
But thank you very much, I am already displaying it and am proud to do so. May I pass it on?
